We were in Loen again on Saturday. And so were ten million other families! Well, it felt like it. Missy and I went to the outdoor pool for some peace and quiet. It was warm and nice although our ears froze. So it helped to have a mother daughter race to and fro many times and to compete on who could hold her breath underwater longer. Having lost her two front teeth, Missy really looked like a little vampire when she grinned at me after every round that she won.
The boys were with their daddy most of the time, doing what boys do best-. We were among the last ones to leave that night. The 2 hours’ ride home was very peaceful, thanks to some Apes entertaining our kids in the back seat.
While the kids initially thought that they would be left to have a free and easy Sunday, we dragged them out to the mountain. There was no mercy! It was totally white on Kvalheimsfjellet and there were more snow there than on the other side of the island where we live. It was tough for the two small ones to wade in the thigh-high snow and by the time we reached the lake,
Still, children have fantastic ability to bounce back. After a lot of rolling, hopping and digging, they managed to get to the other side of the world. We must never under-estimated our children’s abilities ;D
Although the days are short and our outing today was not accompanied by any sunshine at all, the light at the sea cliff was still very special.
I think it was good for all to have a break and have a proper weekend. It was good to know that while others were busy with their Christmas shopping, we were splashing around in the pool and rolling around in the snow.
errr … Our rush will come later, when everybody else is at home enjoying their Gløgg (hi-hi!). But then again, we thrive on adrenaline rush.
(yeah! right)
;D
